Eh!

BelieverVsNonBeliever1

(a 3 minute read) I know from the bottom of my heart that we ALL know this yet somehow in our minds we go Eh! Scoff at it as if it is not true. The above table is a survey from 20 years ago.

Do you think it has changed since? If anything you know down deep that it is worse now than then. Focus on the family in 2011 reported that of those that attend church, 38% have had a divorce.

The take away from this table above is that MY LIFE is pretty much no different whether I am a Christian or not!    Yet, what is the mantra we echo loudly?

If you Know the Lord your life will be so much different!

Apparently NOT

How are we not baffled by this!?                 What gives!?

I believe we are ALL indeed baffled by this…………. And …………. Have no clue WHY?…………. Or know what do we need to do about it!?

In reality though, the answer is simple, the answer is known, and known to each of us…………

The answer is;    We have work to do…………. But the mind is weak…………….. The mind is afraid that the ‘group’ will be offended……………. The mind is LAZY………………. The mind wants to ‘feel’    I AM GOOD

I am still on a humility stint and personally believe that the answer can begin with ‘humility’. if we can define and REFLECT Humility, it would help each one of us BEGIN on the road of reflecting our Creator a little better.

IT TAKES WORK
but, as told by St. Teresa of Avila (1500s)              LOVE TURNS WORK INTO REST

It is still work, but what is the catalyst? It is LOVE………. yet another attribute we, the collective we, strain / struggle / wrestle to grasp. Not Love the ‘feeling’ rather LOVE the application.

For ions, I believe, we’ve excused ourselves with, “but I LOVE God and I am HUMBLE in the presence of the Lord!” Isn’t that enough!?

One question; “Do you work at Humbling yourself in the presence of the Lord?”

One more time; “Do you work at Humbling yourself in the presence of the Lord?”

I hope your answer is; “NOT REALLY, IT COMES NATURALLY.”

Another question; “How much work will it take for you to HUMBLE yourself when in the company of others!?”

I hope that you know that our Maker is desiring that we indeed humble ourselves when we are in the company of others; Family, Friends, Acquaintances & of course complete Strangers. What does that look like?

My God and my Creator, oh how i need to humble myself, desperately need it. i ask that this need is not only when I am writing these words rather a continual need that would drive change in how i apply myself with others on a daily basis. i believe You desire for me to have that need as without it, slipping into a norm without humility is the reality. i hesitated to type this, which is more reason for me to offer it;  i surrender myself to You to do what You please in order for me to learn and to practice this humility. i thank You and i love You my Lord and my Maker. Amen
